The 49th edition of Marmomacc will welcome, in collaboration with Abitare il Tempo, an area dedicated to Made in Italy with exhibitions, events and conferences.
During Marmomacc 2014 the Hall 1 will serve as a bridge between Palaexpo – where Abitare il Tempo is hosted – and the rest of the exhibition centre reserved for companies exhibiting at Marmomacc.
Hall 1 will also host the Marble Forum where, for four days, lectio magistralis, round tables, conferences, seminars and lectures will alternate for a full-immersion natural stone occasion for architects and designers, sector professionals, students and professors, technicians and engineers. For the third year running, Marmomacc & City – the exhibition of stone sculptures and installations organized by Arch. Laura De Stefano in collaboration with the Verona Association of Architects and Verona City Council – will be held in the centre of Verona.
Starting on 24 September – the opening day of Marmomacc – through to the end of October, Verona will be home to a full-scale open-air museum, where companies taking part in the project will exhibit their works in marble and natural stone outside the exhibition centre as such to give life to an “event in the event”.
The works will be placed with the utmost care in the most original and lively parts of Verona, winding their way through a journey of beauty accompanying tourists and local people all around through the city, progressively revealing its glories and mysteries, famous places and precious rarities such as squares, courtyards and alleys.
Marmomacc & the City is also a showcase for designers and artists to highlight their creativity. It also helps the public at large to come into contact with the extraordinary fascination of natural stone as an ancient and highly-prized material interpreted anew in a more modern context.
