THE BUSINESS OF DESIGN
Every year the Design Talks at INDEX, sponsored by OFIS, are one of the highlights of the show, with over 60 of the GCC’s top designers leading an exciting programme of discussions on key trends, challenges and opportunities in the interiors industry.
This year’s Design Talks demonstrate how incredibly quickly things can change in the regional market. 2017’s programme was dominated by how interior designers and retailers were sustaining themselves throughout a fairly lean period, but the mood for 2018’s is far more optimistic, more agile and more commercially aggressive. This year, leading interiors companies are positioning themselves to capitalize on new opportunities in a fast-revitalizing, fast-restructuring environment and have agreed to share these new insights and strategies with the Design Talks audience at the event.
The Design Talks are free-to-attend for all INDEX visitors. The number of seats is limited in order to ensure genuine interplay between the speakers and the audience and do not issue tickets in advance.
The Artist Avenue
The Artist Avenue is an art gallery on the show floor. This year 40+ international and local artists both famous and unsung will be showcasing their latest work. Using a combination of traditional oil techniques, modern acrylic applications or watercolor watch these artists create canvases portraying everything from beautiful landscapes to the avant-garde pieces that tell a powerful story.
