THE NEW CONCEPT FOR 2018: CARRARA²
IMM – Internazionale Marmi e Macchine Carrara has conceived a new concept for its 2018 event, Carrara², which will consist of White Carrara Downtown and Marmotec_Hub_4.0.
According to show organizers, the new format is a modern concept that turns Carrara Marmotec into a catalyst for excellence and an economic booster for the entire area. The event will revolve around the exhibition itself, which has been successfully tested with the spin-off White Carrara Downtown, but will retain the traits of excellence internationally recognized to IMM and to Carrara Marmotec thanks to a format capable of connecting professional training, seminars, technological innovation and business opportunities.
The exhibition was founded in 1980 and it is organizes every two years. The next session will take place in June, 2020.

The world is changing and Carrara Marmotec is ready to change with it, evolving in a new concept-event that turns it from a conventional fair to a place of relationships and experiences, contaminations and technological innovation for the betterment of the supply chain.

WHITE CARRARA DOWNTOWN 2nd EDITION, 2-9 JUNE/2018
White Carrara Downtown reaches it second appointment after the spin-off event launched in 2017, which proved to be the perfect occasion for Carrara and its stone companies to welcome and meet customers, buyers, professionals, architects, designers, journalists in a completely new framework able to breaks the boundaries of the conventional trade fair.
MARMOTEC HUB 4.0., 4-8 JUNE/2018
A new concept event that evolves from a conventional fair to a place of relationships and experiences around the idea of Industry 4.0, which is what creates a “smart factory”. The Pavilion C of Carrara Exhibition Centre will turn into a HUB dedicated to technology, innovation, research and special manufacturing processes.
The identity of Marmotec evolves into a dimension that gathers business opportunities, technological innovation and supply chain culture: Marmotec Hub 4.0.
Marmotec_Hub_4.0 will be the heart of the Carrara2 event and will be focused in the morning hours, from June 4 to 8. Thanks to this format, buyers and architects will attend B2B meetings with local companies, as well as attending workshops and conferences. Participating companies will have a welcome desk in the fair complex to distribute leaflets in the framework of thematic clusters, in-depth insights dedicated to innovation, manufacturing, industry, research, sustainability and security. The companies will present themselves and get acquainted with buyers and operators inviting them to visit their headquarters in the afternoon.

189 Exhibitors, +220 Foreign delegates, +3000 B2B Meetings, +10000 Visitors
189 exhibitors spread across 20,000 square meters, 52% of which for the stone, while 40% of companies of accessories and tools, technologies, and an 8% share those working in the various services available to the industry.
On the open side are the 110 Tuscan businesses to do the lion’s share, but there are also excellent attendance from Lombardy, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Liguria, Lazio, Piedmont, Sicily and Puglia, not surprisingly regions with a strong vocation stone and for the presence of important materials that of large companies producing technologies.

VERONAFIERE & IMM CARRARAFIERE JOIN FORCES
Veronafiere and IMM: system-making market promotion agreement for ‘made in Italy’ marble. Following the outlines defined by the Government in its Special Made in Italy Promotion Plan the two organizations signed on 28 September 2017 a letter of intent.
The objective is to develop joint initiatives to promote the Italian natural stone value chain. Collaboration projects in Italy and abroad will be investigated.
Marmomac and Marmotec join forces to promote the Italian stone industry. Veronafiere and IMM Carrarafiere – the organisers of the two events – have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of developing joint action in Italy and, in particular, on international markets to promote ‘Made in Italy’ natural stone and processing technology. The letter of intent was signed on 28 September 2017 – the second day of the 52nd edition of Marmomac.
Marmomac and Marmotec are the respective expressions of Italy’s two main natural stone production districts: Verona and Carrara in 2016 together accounted for more than 60% of total turnover for Italian stone exports, which in turn came to over 2.9 billion euros for finished materials, semi-finished products and dedicated machinery.
This prompted the desire to join forces in a system-making collaboration between the two trade fairs, seeking new synergies between their respective exhibitions as well as international opportunities for companies operating in the Italian natural stone value chain. Joint involvement in promotional and commercial initiatives in Italy and abroad will therefore be investigated, such as trade missions with companies, b2b meetings, workshops and exhibitions. The partnership will not only concern business but also training, professional updates and research: fields where both trade fairs have been active for over twenty years.
